🌳What’s in this issue?
I’m officially president of the Horror Writers Association as of November 1. I’m excited to represent all the humans that make up our organization, many of whom I consider friends, if not family.
On a sad note, Siren’s Call has just closed their doors after 12 years of publishing. An advocate of publishing new and diverse voices, they’ve been an industry staple as long as I can remember. I owe them for a Stoker. Read more here.
Another ending, Amazon announced they will be ending the Kindle Vella program February 2025. “When Kindle Vella closes in February 2025, we will remove all remaining stories… If you would like to unpublish earlier, we will provide a self-service unpublishing option on December 4th, 2024 so that you’ll be able to unpublish your Kindle Vella content without Customer Service support.” For more information, review the Kindle Vella Update FAQ.
Memento Mori Ink will have new publishing opportunities in Morsus Vitae, to be edited by Pixie Bruner. “Morsus Vitae is an extension of our motto “Memento Mori, Crea Ut Vivas” meaning “Remember you shall die, create so you may live”. Morsus Vitae is a monthly intimate mini-publication, available only to Memento Mori Ink Newsletter subscribers.” I’m looking forward to reading!
LindaAnn LoSchiavo recieved a lovely review from Kyle Wendy Skultety for Always Haunted, LindaAnn’s collection of Halloween Poems. Read the entire review here.
It’s been an Authortunities blitz over on
‘s BrandStack | Books & Broadcasts with three features on me and the intellectual opportunities I’ve built over the past few years, but that’s just a taste of what he offers. Ross has recently migrated his huge podcast following over to Substack where he’s sharing his knowledge as well as being a speaker in the Expo. Check them it out and give him a follow here!
