In personal news, this week I celebrated a new grandchild, my oldest daughter’s birthday, issue #144 of Space and Time and we found a new house. Authortunities feels light this issue, but never fear. There are is a lot just ahead in September so now is a good time to organize your reprints, clean up your files and set up a submissions spreadsheet. I guess a lot of publishers are on holiday… I might join them in 2024.
Things you may have missed:
Back in the Day (part 1) hosted by Brian Keene, he joins living legend panelists John Skipp, Chet Williamson, Douglas E. Winter and David J. Schow to chat about what has changed in publishing and horror fiction over the years... and what hasn't. Part of the Halloween in July fundraiser, you can watch the show for free here. While you’re there, like, subscribe and donate!
🎃Support the Horror Writer Association’s first ever Halloween in July to raise money for scholarships that support the continued educational foundations for the horror community. 🎃To donate: https://www.pledge.to/halloween-in-july
And now, on to the main course. Enjoy the free issue of vintage Space and Time and don’t forget to scroll down to the end for a poll—should horror, fantasy and science fiction just be “speculative” or kept separate. What’s your opinion?
