Authortunities July 26—August 23
90 Authortunities in the Back from the dead and back on schedule with new Space and Time magazine news ➕ free digital July 1981 vintage issue #60
I survived! My poor North American immune system was no match for the Brazilian flu. I’ve spent most of the past three weeks in a fever fog but I’m ready to get back to it—but with boundaries. Setting boundaries is not something I’m good at. Feel free to send me what works for you (or the secret to crushing 24 hours of tasks into one hour of time😂).
Today the new Space and Time magazine is released. This is issue #144, the AI Discovery issue. While we wait for the print version to clear Amazon’s hurdles, you can find the digi version here 🔗https://amzn.to/43NZ0D0
Submissions for Space and Time magazine remain open until July 31. Details here: 🔗spaceandtime.net/submissions
The website also got a makeover with an emphasis on content. Right now you can read fiction by Dave Hangman, Tom Howard and Chris McAuley, poetry from Jennifer Shelby, Colleen Anderson and RK Rugg. There’s also some excellent nonfiction from J. Thorn and Leonard Speiser.
As requested, we’ve opened up digital subscriptions and a new one time lifetime subscription. Let me know what you think! Check that out all that here 🔗spaceandtime.net
Thanks to Lauren M. for sharing a new market. I look forward to exploring Medusa’s Kitchen this week. Lauren speaks highly of it. Anyone have any experiences with Medusa’s Kitchen? This looks like a great place for poetry. 🔗medusaskitchen.blogspot.com
I also have news that there is a “new science fiction, fantasy, and magical realism poetry magazine in town.” Edited by Kendall Evans, Magical Realities will be a print magazine seeking speculative poetry. First issue planned for January 2024. Payment not mentioned. Read more about this here: 🔗new-magazine-seeks-magical-realities

Remember when I mentioned I’d be giving away vintage, digital back issues of Space and Time magazine? That is happening. Featured is Bram Stoker Award winning author Mark McLaughlin’s first ever published story “As Osiris Wills,” included in his recently published collection As Osiris Wills & Other Weird Adventures, which you can find on Amazon here.
I’ll be reviewing this book on tomorrow’s Authortunities Forecast here.
