Authortunities #21 for August 9—September 6
Space and Time magazine updates ➕ Authortunities from all over ➕ free digital Spring 2010 vintage issue #110 〓 Read in 50 US states and 35 countries (and counting)!
The First Reader team is chugging their way through Space and Time submissions and they’ve already found some good ones. It’s too early to say much about the work that was shared but I did notice a lot of new names. One of our online columns this week is from Amanda Worthington. Stop by her Liminal Waystation for some deep thought on mortality and all that entails in “The Space Between Alive and Dead.” Read it for free here.
In other news, we are moving to a new house over the next week. I don’t expect we will be offline long, if at all. Ever see a fish out of water? That’s us without internet. It’s a priority.
The Horror Writer Association is wrapping up their Halloween in July fundraiser with three final panels. I’m looking for more poets to sign up for the poetry open mic I’m hosting with Maxwell I. Gold as the final event.

[WATCH] How To With Agents with Alec Shane (Writers House), Becky LeJune (Bond Literary Agency), Maeve MacLysaght (Copps Literary Services) - August 17th 7:00 pm EST.

Ready for some free reading? Here’s your vintage, digital back issue of Space and Time magazine? This week I’m sharing Issue 110 from Spring 2010 when Hildy Silverman was the publisher. This cover always stands out to me. I think it is the only issue to have a mermaid on the cover. 🚀Download #110 from Spring 2010 🔗bit.ly/45lq3GX
I also have a free story up on Pen of the Damned, “Unlucky Moon.” The story was originally written in response to a challenge to use Frank Sinatra, a rose and the moon in a story. You can read that here: https://penofthedamned.com/2023/08/09/unlucky-moon/
Finally, did you get to watch Brian Keene’s “Back in the Day” presentation last week? Here’s the second installment with Ellen Datlow and Linda D. Addison.
And now, on to the main course. Enjoy the free issue of vintage Space and Time and don’t forget to check out Authortunities Forecast tomorrow.
